Thank you for putting this subject on the forum.
The Nooitgedacht is such a special breed, so I feel that it really justifies having it's own board and thread!
Why not share info on your Nooities guys...
Allow me to start....
I have a twelve year old Nooitgedacht gelding called Viking. He is a registered Nooitgedacht from the Daydream stud farm. His registered name is "Herneuter Astrande".
From the breeder, he apparantly went to a competitive home in JHB, where he was called Desert Prince. He was then brought down to Cape Town and his name was changed to Viking..
I have been riding for two years now, and Viking was and is the horse that I started from scratch on.
My two boys aged 4 & 5 have ridden him since 2003 when we got him, so they have a fantastic bond with him.
He has no vices, loves people, is well schooled, greatly loved, spoilt and is sooooooooo beautiful!
He is a very handsome white grey.
OK...what else...Mmmm? Well, I love this horse with all my heart. I have never met another horse like him. It's as if he is a person; the way he choses to be with us over his herd! He will often stand with us and "chat" while his herd of 30 horses gallops past him, thru the paddock.
I can't really explain this guys, other than to say that he is sooooooooo much more than a horse! He really is!!!!

Jen, he is 15.2. He has a lovely movement - his canter is to die for! He also tripples, which can be a pain sometimes when we are schooling! *grin
If I ever get a video Jen, I will send you an Mpeg - OK?!

This may be an old thread but i thought Id share. We have a nooity at the stables. His name is Flash and his Registered Name is Ligaat V. Flash not sure about his parents names but no they also have the prefix Ligaat V. he was born in 1989 and is a gorgeous bright bay. He is a really sweet pony and is great with the beginners. he has the smoothest trot (especially for sitting to) and a very careful jump (sometimes you think he's never going to take off ;D) he has tought me and many others a great deal and he is so nice to ride.

I have a nootie mare from the calabash stud in langebaan. She is the most amazing horse with a stunning stunning nature.... She is in the riding school and she is four.... Any child can get onto her and she looks after them. There is a little child that is 8 and has a heart condition and is not supposed to ride cause if she falls its bad news, anyway we put her onto DD and she is so awsome she does miniture jumps and canters and she is soooo sweet we even have a 4 year old riding her. Her full name is Calabash dancer in the dark.
