Does anyone know of a stockist of this bit in SA?
Am looking for the short shank version.

Unfortunately there is no stockist of Mylar bits in South Africa - the true Mylar bit. The ones you see in the tack shops are all copies - made I'm not sure where I ordered mine via the net - and I can tell you it was definitely worth it. The Hackamore combination works so well on my horse and is not strong at all If you want I can look up the website for you -

Please, that would be really appreciated. I have looked it up but there are quite a few sites in UK that sell them and would be great to know the reliable one you used. Have found one on ebay but always prefer to buy new cos at least I know what I'm getting.

The site is http:/www.toklat.com/mylar/home.html I got this site from the Mylar book - so I think it is the one they recommend Good luck and I really know their bits work About 2 weeks ago I receive the snakkle version of my hackamore combination - so the mouth piece is the same and my horse won't feel any different - but I can use the snaffle for dressage - it's been approved with a level one mouth peice and a eggbutt cheek piece I know bit are about preferences and what works for your horse - but they've been the answer for us ;D

Saw the advert in this months Jhb Horse Trading and contacted Riders. They have some on the way in at the moment and I have ordered one from them. Good service from them and am very happy.

Hi Desdemona!
We just got the Myler combination bit from the USA- i sent away for it from a tack store that i use in Pennsylvania- then my mom sends it on- i ordered the short shank combination bit, cause my daughter's pony is jumping in a hackamore- but we cannot compete in working hunter with this- i am sooooo pleased with the bit- she bascules beautifully over the jumps now, and Sara has much better lateral control- it was a good choice!!! i have looked at the combination bits available here- and the only comparable one is the Nathe one- but the shank is quite long- good luck!!!
