Can all the people who know Friesian stallions very well please tell me about their temperaments?

I believe that the ones in South Africa are bred to be a lot more firey than the international ones we usually see. They are a comfortable ride on the whole, but take a while to get used to

Hi Jackie
I have a friesian stallion he has only just been backed awile ago. hasnt been ridden alot, but from what i can see he is not too hot,but can get a little excited around mare's,although most stallions do. I know someone that has a friesian stallion that can get quite hot. they are generally very nice horses though.

My horse was a stallion when I bought him and he was an angel most of the time, he acted up a bit around mares in season.. I had him gelded to give him freedom to mix with others in a bigger paddock. I think temperament is directly related to breeding, better breeding more even tempered horse.
