My girls name is Sasha. I bought her with another mare for my little girl. The owner of the horses couldn't tell me their age, if they had all their injections or whatever. Both the mares was in foal. Sasha, if I have to guess, is about 25 years. She had a huge drawback, and three weeks before she foaled we found out she is in foal. The vet told me it would be a miracle if she was in foal. So miracles do happen! One afternoon I got back from work and noticed Sasha was a little smaller than usual. She had her foal. We found the foal way down in the camp. She was weak and could not stand up. I spend the whole night with them in the stables. She was drinking fine from a bottle. The next day at 2 we lost her. It makes me so angry to think that you can get a mare in foal if she is so old. I am trying to get her weight up but is struggling. Can somebody give me some advice?
